Response to the 2010 Nashville Flood Countless lives have been forever changed by the flooding of 2010. Flood waters have taken lives, ruined property and destroyed homes and businesses. And yet, lives have also been positively changed as neighbors have stepped up to care for each other, companies have stretched their resources to offer relief to their community and strangers have appeared seemingly out of nowhere to help people they’ve never even met. The people of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church have been in the middle of such life-changing work. They have generously given of their time, skills and money. But we also know that the work is not finished, and Hillsboro is committed to helping those among and around us. Here’s how you can help.
Pray Please continue to pray for all of those impacted by the flood. Pray that their needs are met, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Pray for relief and for restoration.
Give Hillsboro continues to raise donations for flood victims within our care. If you’d like to make a financial contribution, you can make your check payable to Hillsboro Presbyterian Church and indicate “Flood Relief” in the memo line.
Volunteer If you’re looking to donate your time or skills, please contact your family elder for information about specific needs. Or you may call the church office and ask for a list of current needs and requests. Hands on Nashville also maintains a comprehensive list of flood relief needs and efforts in the community.
